Police are notifying residents that a level 2 sex offender is moving to a neighborhood near 192nd and 48th.

18-year-old Gregory Lamary Johnson was convicted last year of second-degree child rape and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. Court documents say Johnson had sex with a 13-year-old girl between October and December 2010. In 2008, when he was 15, he also had sex with another 13-year-old girl.

In December 2009, Johnson was convicted of indecent exposure and fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation. While in juvenile detention he attended sex offender treatment.

Johnson is not wanted by police at this time.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and the Lynnwood Police Department has no legal authority to direct where a sex offender he may or may not live. Unless court ordered restrictions exist, this offender is constitutionally free to live wherever he chooses.
