Lynnwood police are issuing “tickets” to kids who are caught in the act of doing good deeds. Each one is redeemable for a free Slupree.
7-Eleven developed Operation Chill in 1996 to positively reward and encourage good behavior by kids over the summer, when there is often an increase in loitering, shoplifting and graffiti.
Lynnwood PD has other ideas for safe and positive summertime activities. Contact the Crime Prevention Unit at 425-670-5635 or ssessions@ci.lynnwood.wa.us for more information.
A Slurpee? When I was a kid Officer Friendly would come to our school and we would get to ride around in his car on the playground with the lights and sirens going.
That was awesome…. but then again I am docile and compliant, now I understand where it came from. 🙂
does everyone that stops at a Red light also get a free slurpee?
Lame. Howz about we give kids some cool things to do besides hang around at the mall or playing video games for 24 hr. straight.
