Local officials, pedestrians and bicyclists celebrate 44th overpass opening

Earlier this week local officials, bicyclists and pedestrians cut the ribbon on the new 44th Avenue overpass and crossed it for the first time. The bridge is now open after seven months of construction.

The new bridge completes the missing link in Lynnwood’s portion of the Interurban Trail. It parallels I-5 and provides a safe route over 44th Avenue West and the southbound I-5 on-ramp. It also provides better access to the Lynnwood Transit Center from the trail.

Crews added more than 60 new signs to the trail through Lynnwood to help people find their way.

I assume you mean that the planning began 12 years ago, not the actual construction.

    Thanks,

  2. Yes, you're right Mike, 12 years ago the planning started and took until now to finally finish it.
