Driving mishap gives new meaning to double parking

A parking mishap caused quite a scene at a Lynnwood business complex Tuesday morning.

A 38-year-old woman was pulling her Mercedes into a spot in the parking lot at 192nd and 36th, when she apparently lost track of which pedal her foot was on.

“When she attempted to stop her vehicle, and in fact it started to go faster with every effort she made to stop faster and harder. She finally decided she would stand on the brakes,” Lynnwood police spokesperson Shannon Sessions said. “Unfortunately, she stood on the gas pedal.”

Her car came to rest on top of a PT Cruiser.

The driver was not hurt, but she was fined $550 for negligent driving.
