The state’s Public Disclosure Commission has announced that it won’t formally investigate a complaint filed by Councilman Ted Hikel against People For a Better Lynnwood. That’s the citizens’ group promoting a measure to change the city’s form of government to council/city manager.
Hikel’s complaint asked the group file as a political action committee and report income, expenses and in-kind contributions.
In a letter to Hikel, the PDC said:
Although PBL has disclosed contribution and expenditure activities late, the public has been aware of PBL’s activities because of their PDC filings, and because of the involvenent of PBL committee members in community activities. In addition, PBL committee officials have met with PDC staff regarding the committee’s reporting obligations, are now aware of what reports are required, and have brought the committee reports up-to-date.
The PDC says it will remind People for a Better Lynnwood of its reporting requirements and ask them to make sure all future reports are filed on time.
