State Representative for the 21st District candidate Strom Peterson received the endorsement of Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling, Lynnwood Nicola Smith, and Mukilteo Mayor Jen Gregerson.
Peterson is a two-term Edmonds City Council Member and has worked with community organizations across the 21st District. The primary for Position 1 has a crowded field of five candidates, but Peterson has been endorsed by the outgoing Representative Mary Helen Roberts, as well as the three City Mayors and many others.
“Strom Peterson is the only candidate for Position 1 in the 21st District who is a proven legislator,” Earling said. “He listens to his constituents and is responsive and thoughtful when considering issues.”
Smith and Gregerson join Earling in their endorsement of Peterson. Peterson has been recognized by these and other elected officials and community leaders district-wide because he can be more effective as a new legislator since has had local government experience.
“Strom is committed to public safety – we’ve worked together for Edmonds and Mukilteo residents on regional fire issues,” Gregerson said, “And I know he is ready to work for the residents of the 21st District. Strom is a capable leader and advocate, and I know he’ll serve our district well.”
Earling also said, “Strom’s nearly six years on the Council have given him the experience to serve effectively in the State House.”
