Edmonds police are seeking more information about a man connected with a series of car prowls in Edmonds and Lynnwood, after police suspect he left a stolen car in the Perrinville neighborhood Monday morning.

According to Edmonds Police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marsh, several north Edmonds residents called 911 around 6:30 a.m. Monday to  report a suspicious male and vehicle in the area. Responding officers located a 1997 tan Honda Accord, parked partially in the roadway in the area of 187th Street Southwest and 78th Place West.

The vehicle’s engine area was still warm to the touch and the vehicle was filled with various items including several bags of tools, Marsh said, adding that officers discovered that the vehicle was stolen out of Snohomish County.

A K-9 unit searched the area but failed to locate the man that had been seen by area residents. Officers contacted the Honda owner and determined that the vehicle had been stolen the previous day. “With permission from the owner, officers were able to search the vehicle and located numerous items that had been stolen out of vehicles in Lynnwood and Edmonds,” Marsh said. “The vehicle was returned to the owner along with some personal property.”

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 25-35 years old, 5-11 tall and of medium build. He was wearing a North Face jacket that was dark gray and black along the sides and oversized baggy blue jeans.
