The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible kidnapping near Lynnwood.
Two witnesses called 911 at 5:49 p.m. Monday to report the incident near the intersection of Larch Way and Poplar Way in the Alderwood Manor area. The witnesses both said that a blonde woman in her mid-teens to early 20s was walking eastbound along Larch Way when a blue Ford Explorer stopped alongside her.
Witnesses say the driver jumped out of the SUV, grabbed the woman and shoved her inside through a door on the driver’s side.
The vehicle reportedly drove off eastbound on Larch Way, then turned northbound onto 28th Avenue West before making a U-turn and heading south.
Investigators determined that less than 20 minutes before the incident was reported to police, the possible victim was at the Albertson’s in Mountlake Terrace, located at 4301 212th St. SW. They got a photo of her off of the grocery store’s surveillance system.
Video surveillance shows the victim arriving at the store, driving the suspect vehicle. She enters the store, then leaves a few minutes later and drives away in the vehicle. The victim does not appear to be accompanied by anyone at the store, nor does there appear to be anyone else in the vehicle. The location of the crime, which occurred approximately 15 minutes later, is a little over half a mile east from the store.
The male is described as white or light-skinned hispanic. He is 5-foot-9 with a light to medium build and was last seen wearing a dark gray beanie.
The woman has long blonde hair. She was seen wearing a white jacket with fur around the hood.
Witnesses told deputies they could not see any license plates on the Ford Explorer.
