The Shorecrest Scots scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning, then were shut down by a trio of Meadowdale Mavericks’ pitchers and their teammates on Friday, giving the Mavs’ bats a chance to shine.
The Meadowdale hitting attack did just that and more, scoring runs in bunches and nailing down an 11-3 victory for the Mavs at Shorecrest High School.
Junior Brady Johnson led the Mavs offense with a pair of hits and three RBI; Caleb Berry and Mason Vaughn each contributed a pair of RBI in the win.
Vaughn, Parker Cumberland and Zach Matson each had a turn on the mound for Meadowdale. Cumberland was credited with the victory.
