Prep baseball: Royals down Scots 7-6 Friday

The Lynnwood Royals capitalized on some sloppy play by the Shorecrest Scots and defeated the visitors 7-6 in a Wesco League contest played Friday at Lynnwood High School.

The Scots committed five errors in the game, helping the Royals score four runs in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth.

With the victory, Lynnwood evened their 2A/3A Wesco League South Conference record at 3-3; the team is 8-4 overall.

The Royals open a key two-game series against the Mountlake Terrace Hawks on Tuesday, April 16; first pitch at Mountlake Terrace High School is slated for 4 p.m. The series will conclude on Wednesday, April 17, at Lynnwood High School.
