Prep boys basketball: Eagles edge Mavericks 57-50

The Arlington Eagles kept grasp of a share of the 2A/3A Wesco League lead with a 57-50 victory over the Meadowdale Mavericks Wednesday at Meadowdale High School.

The Eagles have started the league schedule 3-0 and are tied for first place with the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks (1-1 in the 2A/3A Wesco League, 4-3 overall).

Griffin Gardoski paced the Arlington scoring with 20 points, matching the total scored for the Mavs by Cole Nelson. Michael Tsoukalas of Arlington and Nick Buckley of Meadowdale each added 14 points for their respective squads.

The Mavs will head north on Friday, Dec. 21, to visit the Marysville-Getchell Chargers; tipoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
