Prep boys soccer: After Tuesday win, Royals state bound for first time in 31 years

The Lynnwood High School boys soccer team qualified for state competition for the first time in 31 years with a 2-1 win over Squalicum Tuesday night.

The Royals’ Ryley Johnson scored both goals for the Royals (11-6), who handed Squalicum (16-1-1) its first loss this season.

Lynnwood next meets Snohomish Saturday for the 3A district championship, with both teams advancing to the state tournament.
