Prep track and field: Lynnwood girls win Edmonds District championship

The Lynnwood girls and the Edmonds-Woodway boys won team titles at the Edmonds District track and field championships Friday at Edmonds Stadium.

Lynnwood’s girls squad won the team title, scoring 162 points, just ahead of Mountlake Terrace, which had 155 points. Edmonds-Woodway was third with 151 and Meadowdale took fourth with 56. Edmonds-Woodway’s boys team scored 161 points, while Lynnwood was close behind with 155. Mountlake Terrace was third with 103 and Meadowdale was fourth with 93.

Lynnwood’s Jordyn Edwards finished first in the girls 100, 200 and 400 and Mikayla Pivec won the 800, 1,600 and the high jump. Pivec’s younger sister, Malia Pivec took the 3,200. Rita Sakharov won the 300 hurdles and the Royals 1,600 relay team was victorious. Meadowdale’s Megan Zollars won the long and triple jumps.

Lynnwood’s Harold Williams II won the boys 100, 200 and 400. Teammates Tyler McArthur finished first in the 800 and Andrew Katzenberger captured the discus.   The Royals’ 1,600 relay team was a winner. Meadowdale’s Harry White won the 110 and 300 hurdles.
