Prep track and field: Meadowdale’s Grant, Lynnwood’s Mikayla Pivec double up at Wesco 3A South championships

mavs-logolynnwood-royals-logo1Meadowdale’s Christapherson Grant and Lynnwood’s Mikayla Pivec each won a pair of events at the Wesco 3A South Track and Field Championships that wrapped up Friday at Edmonds Stadium.

Grant won the boys 110-meter high hurdles and the 300 hurdles, while Pivec captured the girls 800 and 1,600.

In the boys meet, Lynnwood’s Harold Williams II took first in the 200 and Tyler McArthur was second in the 800. Meadowdale’s Harry White was second in the 110 and 300 hurdles and Lynnwood’s Andrew Katzenberger was second in the discus. Meadowdale’s Rory Kirkpatrick finished second in the pole vault and the Royals took second in the 1,600 relay.

In the girls meet, Lynnwood’s Jordyn Edwards won the 400 and was second in the 200. Malia Pivec captured the 3,200 and was second in the 1,600. Lynnwood’s Rita Sakharov won the 300 hurdles and the Royals 800 and 1,600 relay teams finished first.
