Prep volleyball: Royals celebrate seniors during Tuesday match

The Lynnwood Royals wrapped up their regular season Tuesday night at Lynnwood High School by hosting the Snohomish Panthers.

The Royals fought hard, winning the second set, but ultimately fell to the second-place Panthers, 3-1.

Lynnwood was led by Linh Nguyen and Jayden Angell with eight kills each, Acacia Preza with 26 assists and 15 digs, and Surina Soumpholphakdy, who had 36 digs.

Lynnwood finishes the regular season as the 9th ranked team in the Wesco 3A RPI Rankings, qualifying them for a district playoff “play-in” game Thursday night, Nov. 7. The Royals will travel to Squalicum High School to take on the Storm in the loser-out game. The winner will advance to play the No. 1- ranked Arlington Eagles next Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The evening also saw the Royals celebrate the five seniors on their roster. setter Acacia Preza, defensive specialist Simran Sharma, outside hitter Syra Abiador, outside hitter Linh Nguyen, and outside hitter Jayden Angell.
