Prep wrestling: Three Royals and two Mavericks are heading to the state championships

Three Lynnwood Royals and two Meadowdale Mavericks punched their tickets to Mat Classic XXVIII, the state high school wrestling championships, with strong outings at the 3A Region 1 tournament held Saturday in Marysville.

Nate Paulson (Lynnwood) qualified for the state tournament as a result of his second place finish in the 132-pound weight class on Saturday. Beck Millet (Meadowdale, 132-pound class) and Liam Ball (Meadowdale, 182-pound class) placed third in their respective

divisions while Leul Wolde (Lynnwood, 132-pound weight class) and Cole Anstice (Lynnwood, 170-pound weight class) grabbed fourth in their classes.

Mat Classic XXVIII will be held Feb. 19-20 at the Tacoma Dome. For a schedule of the tournament and more information, click here.
