Linda Jones

Earlier this year, the Lynnwood Chamber welcomed a new President/CEO. Linda Jones brings years of experience to the Chamber and is excited to watch Lynnwood’s business community grow.

Lynnwood Today spoke with Jones to learn more about her history and what brought her to Lynnwood:

Lynnwood Today: First, tell us a bit about the history of the Lynnwood Chamber.
Linda Jones: Several years ago, a group of business people saw the need for Lynnwood to have a local chamber of commerce. This group held onto that goal and continued to volunteer their time and expertise to make this happen. It is because of these efforts the Lynnwood Chamber of Commerce is now a full-service chamber serving the needs of the business community.

LT: When did you start as the President/CEO of the Lynnwood Chamber?
LJ: Last fall, I was asked to help with the efforts to form the Lynnwood Chamber. I was then honored to be asked to lead the Chamber as President and CEO beginning Jan. 1 of this year.

LT: Tell us a bit about your work history.
LJ: My chamber career began as an Ambassador for the Greater Edmonds Chamber of Commerce. The ability to work with people to support business growth really caught my attention and I was pleased to come on board as their membership coordinator. From that position I moved to the Burlington Chamber of Commerce as their President and CEO, where I spent the last nine years.

LT: Why did you decide to join the Lynnwood Chamber?
LJ: Although I truly enjoyed working with the people and businesses of Burlington, my home is here and I really started to miss the area. This is where I raised my children and where they have now created their own homes. With the Lynnwood Chamber, I get to do the work I love and spend more time with family and friends. It couldn’t be a better opportunity.

LT: What is the most exciting thing to you about the Lynnwood Chamber?
LJ: The Lynnwood Chamber of Commerce is new and fresh. It is filled with the passion of businesses wanting to grow and continue their success. The opportunity is here right now to create the most valuable chamber for our business community and it is exciting to be a part of that.

LT: What are you most looking forward to with regards to the Lynnwood Chamber?
LJ: I am truly looking forward to experiencing even more growth and excitement at this chamber. The Lynnwood Chamber is already exhibiting energy second to none, and I am having a great time being a part of that.

LT: Who should join the Lynnwood Chamber? What are some of the benefits?
LJ: The purpose of a chamber of commerce is to grow the economy of the area through successful existing and new businesses. Big or small, businesses will benefit from joining with the Chamber’s efforts. As each business is different, they will each receive different benefits from their involvement. It is because of this I look forward to personally meeting with the members of the business community and serving their individual needs.

LT: If someone reading this wants to contact you or the Chamber, what’s the best way to do that?
LJ: We can be reached at 425-563-7505, info@lynnwoodchamber.org or through our website lynnwoodchamber.org.

LT: When you’re not working, what are some of your favorite things to do?
LJ: Besides visiting my granddaughter? My two passions are early childhood learning and dog rescue. Very different, I know. I have two terrier rescues of my own, Benny and Penny, who entertain me on a daily basis.
