Registration is now open for Lynnwood University, an eight-week course offered to Lynnwood residents to show them how the local government and city services work.
The class is free of charge. Classes are held each Thursday form Sept. 8-Oct. 27, from 6:30-9 p.m. at various city locations.
Demonstrations, tours, and hands-on activities are presented to attendees by city staff, council members and Mayor Nicola Smith.
Class activities include:
- Meet Mayor Nicola Smith and the members of the City Council
- Visit Fire Station 15, try on fire fighting gear, climb the 100-ft ladder
- Meet the SWAT Team and come face-to-face with a police K-9
- Tour the Traffic Management Center
- Learn about City Center and other exciting development coming soon
