Fireworks are illegal within the city limits of Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Edmonds, Mill Creek and other local jurisdictions. However, fireworks are still allowed in unincorporated areas of the county.

There are some restrictions, however. Fireworks in unincorporated Snohomish County can only be fired between the hours of 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on the Fourth of July only. Fireworks are not allowed on any other day.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says neighbors should call (425) 775-3000 to report any illegal fireworks, unless there is an immediate threat to a person or property, in which case neighbors should call 9-1-1.

Below is a list of things that are never allowed, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office:

• Discharge fireworks within the city limits of Edmonds, Everett, Gold Bar, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo and Woodway.
• Discharge fireworks in any Washington State Park or Snohomish County Park
• Discharge fireworks on federal land, including those managed by the Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Forest Service
• Discharge fireworks on public property, public streets, sidewalks, parking lots, or school property
• Discharge fireworks on private property without permission and to discharge fireworks from private property onto public property
• Discharge fireworks before or after the Fourth of July. Fireworks are always illegal in unincorporated Snohomish County before and after the Fourth of July.
• Possess or discharge illegal fireworks. Firecrackers, rockets, rockets, M-80s, dynamite and all homemade fireworks are all illegal.
