Reminder: Seattle Milk Fund Dinner and Auction set for Sunday, Oct. 6 at Lynnwood Convention Center

MyNNNThe Seattle Milk Fund’s annual Homecoming Dinner and Auction is set for Oct. 6 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.

The event, scheduled from 4:30-9 p.m., is being hosted by TV personality Jon Curley. For 14 years John Curley hosted KING 5 TV’s “Evening Magazine,” the highest-rated regionally produced TV show in the country. Curley has won numerous Emmys for his work.

Now, he’s an elected member of Sammamish city council. Nearly every weekday and weekend of the year, Curley emcees events and fundraisers—including sales conferences, auctions, and dinner auction. Known as the Ironman of Auctioneers, he raises over $2.5 million dollars every month for area nonprofits.

The Seattle Milk Fund helps to build stronger communities through access to education, childcare, and temporary basic needs, empowering families to achieve self–sufficiency and reducing the likelihood a child lives in poverty. By paying the costs of child care for full-time college students, the fund ensures that their children are safe while the students focus on their studies. By assisting with tuition and emergency needs, the fund further relieves students’ financial stress. And by providing caring volunteer mentors, the fund encourages and inspires students to persevere.

Seattle Milk Fund families are one or two parent households whose income falls within 250 percent of the federal poverty guideline. Each Circle Family Program grantee receives:

  • childcare grant(s) of up to $1250 per quarter/per child
  • an education grant of $300 per quarter
  • emergency financial support and encouragement

Tickets for the Oct. 6 Gala are $125 and can be purchased here. For more information on the Seattle Milk Fund, see https://www.seattlemilkfund.org/.
