Residents, especially students, are invited to come and help the restoration of Gold Park from 10 a.m.-2 p.m, Monday, Jan. 20.

Through the years, the LEAF School, Center for Service Learning, Snohomish Tribe, and the city of Lynnwood have partnered to make Martin Luther King Day of Service a “day on – not off” through the restoration of Gold Park by removing more than five tons of invasive species and planting over 160 native plants.

The Stolja Ali Ethnobotanical Garden was created to showcase native plants and their traditional uses.

Come and help continue the restoration by removing invasive plants and planting new ones, as well as join in Snohomish native culture by participating in weaving and storytelling. Lunch will be provided to volunteers by Ivars.

For more information or to RSVP contact Thuyvi Nguyen at thuyvi.nguyen@email.edcc.edu. Gold Park is located at 6421 200th St. SW. in Lynnwood.
