  1. Mr. Petersen was my Math 101 (Basic Algebra) teacher in the 1970s at Shoreline CC. His teaching was absolutely professional and superb. His remarks were witty, entertaining and made coming to class each morning (@7:30 AM!) a joy. He would often incorporate fascinating tidbits about science and physics into his talks and demonstrations at the blackboard. Unfortunately, I was not a great math student but he was one of the best math teachers I ever encountered. May his family feel surrounded by care and comfort as they mourn his passing.
