Roofers blamed for fire at Big E Ales

We’re getting details of a fire Wednesday night at Big E. Ales at 50th Avenue West and 208th Street SW.

The fire started at about 8:30 p.m. as roofers were working on top of the building. They were doing what’s down as a “torch down” procedure on the tar roofing material when some of the wood caught fire.

According to Twitter user @SnoCo_Scanner, people refused to leave the building and the police department had to be called.

Fortunately, no one was hurt and the fire was contained in about 15 minutes.

Fire officials say the roofing company had the proper permits for the job.
