The Lynnwood Royals were unable to take advantage of some poor fielding by the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors as E-W defeated Lynnwood 6-5 on Tuesday in the 2019 regular season finale for both teams.

E-W committed five errors in the game, allowing the Royals to score four unearned runs. But Lynnwood was unable to get the big hit when necessary; the Royals banged out seven hits – all singles – and left five runners on base in the contest.

The Warriors used six pitchers in the tilt, with starter Karsen Tjarneberg picking up the win.

E-W finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-8 and will be the No. 1 seed in the District 1 3A Baseball Tournament that begins with play-in game on Thursday, May 2. The Warriors will play their first tourney game on Saturday, May 4, against either Marysville-Pilchuck or Lynnwood.

The Royals, the district tourney No. 9 seed, tangle with M-P in a tournament play-in loser-out game on Thursday, time and location to be announced.
