Free emergency kits, while supplies last, will be given away from 8 a.m.-noon, Saturday, June 13 at the Lynnwood Fred Meyer, 2902 164th St. SW. Safety information also will be available.

Preparedness is a critical factor in a community’s ability to respond during an emergency and to recover afterward. Whether it be an earthquake or an everyday disaster such as a home fire or a medical emergency, Puget Sound area residents must be prepared for when, not if, the next crisis strikes.

Lives are saved and devastation is reduced with advanced planning. Preparedness planning affects our ability to survive, recover and thrive in the aftermath of a disaster.
