The Ciudad Interior Contemporary Dance Company performed a specially choreographed outdoor performance, Dancing through Streets and Squares, Sunday at the Lynndale Park Amphitheater.
Ciudad Interior is a contemporary dance company founded by the Mexican choreographer Alejandro Chávez. The company is based in Querétaro, México, and has toured extensively in the United States. Ciudad Interior was one of the headliners at the recent Seattle International Dance Festival. The company uses different artistic disciplines of contemporary dance as their language to celebrate the human spirit and also comment on societal problems and concerns.
The dancers – Alejandra Sanchez Barboza, Cinthia Ramos Alaniz, Maria Concepcian Maniagon Leon, Claudia A. Izquierdo, Alejandro Chavez Zavola and Maviano de Jesus Aviles Martinez were hosted by Lynnwood residents Ricardo Garcia and Rosamaria Graziana and their performance was the way the dancers thanked them for their hospitality.
