Sheriff’s Office investigating hit-and-run collision on Larch Way

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run collision that occurred near the intersection of 178th Street Southwest and Larch Way on Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported just after 7:50 a.m. A deputy had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and made initial contact with the driver. When the deputy returned to his motorcycle, the vehicle sped away.

“The driver swerved around a truck and collided with a passenger vehicle in the oncoming lane, causing a serious collision,” said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Courtney O’Keefe in a press release. “The suspect fled the scene on foot.”

A containment area was established and a K-9 track was attempted. The suspect, identified as a 24-year-old Lynnwood man, was not located.

A man and woman in the oncoming vehicle were both transported to the hospital.

Larch Way remained closed for several hours. The investigation is ongoing.
