The Everett Silvertips and the Red Cross of Snohomish County are teaming up at today’s Green-Grey game to raise money for the Lynnview fire victims.
Usually the Green-Grey game is free, but this year fans are asked to donate $5 for entrance into the game, which begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Lynnwood Ice Center.
With training camp being held at the Lynnwood Ice Center, Silvertips Director of Business Operations Zoran Rajcic saw an opportunity to support an area that has supported the Silvertips strongly over the years.
”It’s a prime opportunity for Silvertips fans to once again help their neighbors,” Rajcic said. “With the generosity of our fans and training camp being held in Lynnwood, we wanted to make sure that we could do whatever we could to assist those affected by the tragedy earlier this month.”
The fire that destroyed the Lynnview Apartments earlier this month displaced 35 families and caused an estimated three million dollars in damage.
”We are thrilled to be partnering with the Everett Silvertips for this year’s Green and Grey game and very appreciative of the community and Silvertips fans support of our local disaster relief efforts,” said Chuck Morrison, the American Red Cross, Snohomish County Chapter’s Executive Director.
Because of space and capacity limitations, 900 tickets will be available for the game.
The Lynnwood Ice Center is located at 19803 68th Avenue West.
