The Skandia Folkdance Society presents a special birthday concert on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Cedar Valley Grange.
Frank Brown is turning 65 and has brought Andrea Hoag and Charlie Pilzer from Washington, D.C., to play. They have produced several familiar Scandinavian CDs, including Hambo in The Barn and Hambo in the Snow. Irene Myers will join them to add superb harmony and complete the name of the band, “CIA.”
Dance teaching for the evening will be by Jennifer Roach and Pat Pi, teaching Senpolska från Torp. Dance instruction starts at 7:30 p.m. and open dancing follows at 8:30 p.m.
Admission is $7 for Skandia members and $10 for nonmembers. Kids are free.
