Skateboarder struck by a car on the icy roads

The slick roads could be to blame for at least one injury collision Monday night.

A 16-year-old boy was hit by a passing car around 7:30 p.m. while on his skateboard. The boy, who is in stable condition with unknown injuries, was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Lynnwood medics.

Lynnwood police and fire crews were inundated with several motor vehicle collisions late into the night.

As of publication, no roads are closed in the city of Lynnwood. Crews monitored city streets throughout the night and road blocks are ready to be placed at potentially risky locations. Public Works continues to plow and sand major thoroughfares.

City Hall is scheduled to open late at 10 a.m., with exception of the court which will start at 8 a.m.

  1. I saw several of these idiots, on skateboards, bikes, walking down the middle of the street, etc. on my way home last night in the dark. I guess they don’t have the IQ to fiqure out how hard it is to stop a 1 or 2 ton vehicle when they pull out in front of us—-usually on a hill. I don’t feel sorry for them at all, only the families that have to suffer the consequences.
