Smoke shop owner arrested for trafficking stolen property

The owner of Royal Smoke Shop and his 18-year-old son were arrested after police served a search warrant on their business in the 7500 block of 196th Street SW.

The arrests were the culmination of an 11-month investigation in which an undercover detective made several transactions with the suspects. The detective sold the suspects a variety of items that the men were led to believe had been stolen.

They were arrested on charges of trafficking stolen property in the first degree, money laundering and criminal profiteering.

Members of the South Snohomish County Narcotics Task Force and the Lynnwood Special Operations Section assisted Lynnwood Police with the investigation.
