firedistrict1_logo1Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 711 calls July 18-31: 523 emergency medical aid calls, 47 motor vehicle collisions, 70 fires, 30 service calls, 7 gas leaks and 34 automatic fire alarms.

July 18

PLAYGROUND FIRE:  At 11:10 p.m., firefighters were called to a small fire that damaged playground equipment at Serene Lake Elementary School near Mukilteo.

July 19

POWER LINE ON TRUCK:  At 10:46 a.m., a power line fell on a gravel dump truck during construction in the 9800 block of 31st Avenue SE east of Everett.  Firefighters advised the driver to remain in the cab until PUD arrived to cut the power.

COLLISION:  At 4:10 p.m., firefighters transported a patient to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett after he was injured while loading a car onto his tow truck on southbound I-405 south of the I-5 interchange in Lynnwood.

July 20

COLLISION:  At 7:58 a.m., a rollover collision was reported on northbound I-5 north of the 164th Street SW exit.  Firefighters transported the injured driver to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

July 21

BRUSH FIRE:  At 2:04 p.m., firefighters extinguished a brush fire in the 500 block of Hemlock Way in Edmonds.  No one was injured.

July 22

COLLISION:  At 2:41 p.m., firefighters responded to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in the 23600 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. They transported the motorcyclist to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

July 23

BRUSH FIRE:  At 2:07 p.m., firefighters extinguished a brush fire next to railroad tracks in the 13000 block of Picnic Point Road south of Mukilteo.

July 25

COLLISION:  At 2:57 p.m., a car struck a wall and caught fire in the 200 block of 120th Street SW south of Everett.  Firefighters arrived to find the engine compartment engulfed in flames. They quickly extinguished the blaze.  No one was injured.

COLLISION:  At 8:22 p.m., a man on an all-terrain vehicle hit a parked car in the 5500 block of 240th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. He sustained serious injuries and was transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center.

July 26

COLLISION:  At 1:05 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room after responding to a two-car collision at 116th Place SE and Meridian Avenue S south of Everett.

COLLISION:  At 4:09 p.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision in the 500 block of 128th Street SE south of Everett.  They transported one patient to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

July 27

COLLISION:  At 11:17 p.m., a car struck a pole at the corner of 212th Street SW and 76th Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

July 29

OUTHOUSE FIRE:  At 1:41 a.m., firefighters extinguished a fire that destroyed port-a-potty in the 17400 block of 3rd Avenue SE east of Lynnwood.

July 31

COLLISION:  At 5:40 p.m., firefighters responded after a truck struck a carport, causing it to collapse onto two vehicles, at an apartment complex in the 23300 block of Edmonds Way in Edmonds. No one was injured.

COLLISION:  At 8:40 p.m., a three-car collision was reported in the 21200 block of 44th Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace.  Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

CAR FIRE:  At 10:39 p.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 12100 block of Avondale Way south of Everett.
