Snohomish County Fire District 1 calls: June 6-12

firedistrict1_logo1Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 377 calls the week of June 6-12: 294 emergency medical aid calls, 26 motor vehicle collisions, 31 fires, 13 service calls, 1 natural gas leak and 12 automatic fire alarms.

June 6

FIRE: At 2:11 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a house fire in the 16200 block of 70th Place West in Edmonds. Smoke was coming from the crawl space when they arrived at the scene. There was a small fire contained to the furnace. Damage to the home was minimal. No injuries were reported.

COLLISION: At 4:10 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 12th Place West and Ash Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

June 7

COLLISION: At 12:35 a.m., one patient was transported to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after firefighters responded to a collision involving multiple vehicles on southbound I-5 at the I-405 interchange. Firefighters also assisted with a fuel-spill cleanup on the roadway.

COLLISION: At 7:39 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at Damson Road and Filbert Road east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

June 8

CAR FIRE: At 8:06 a.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire on northbound I-5 south of 44th Avenue West in Lynnwood. No injuries were reported.

COLLISION: At 10:11 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Harborview Medical Center after responding to a rollover collision in the 8400 block of Main Street in Edmonds.

COLLISION: At 5:50 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at the intersection of 152nd Street SW and 52nd Avenue West north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

June 9

COLLISION: At 2:48 p.m., a car crashed into a tree in the 9700 block of Edmonds Way in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 6:52 p.m., a man was critically injured when he was ejected from an all-terrain vehicle in the 5500 block of 128th Place SE east of Everett. He was transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center.

June 10

FIRE: At 8:34 a.m., firefighters responded to a small fire at a strip mall in the 9720 block of Edmonds Way in Edmonds. A flower shop and day care in the building were evacuated. Fire extinguishers were used to put out a small exterior fire. Damage was minimal and the occupants were allowed to re-enter the building. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

STUMP FIRE: At 6:11 p.m., firefighters extinguished a stump fire in a wooded area of Terrace Creek Park near the 5100 block of 228th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace.

June 11

COLLISION: At 2:42 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision at 156th Street SW and Highway 99 north of Lynnwood.

Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, with full-time staffing at 12 fire stations. The department serves nearly 200,000 residents in unincorporated south Snohomish County, Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Woodway.
