Sound Transit fares going up in June

Sound Transit has announced a fare increase for the ST Express buses that will take effect June 1. The agency says it’s the second in a two-phase process of simplifying its fare structure and responding to increased operating costs.

All of King County will become one fare zone instead of three, so any trip in the region that starts and ends in the same county will have a one-county fare. Multi-county adult fares, as well as fares for adults currently taking one-zone trips in King County, will increase by 50 cents. That means if you go from Lynnwood to anywhere in King County you’ll pay $3.50.

A handful of ST Express routes serve the Ash Way and Lynnwood park and rides, including the 511 to Seattle, and the 532 and 535 to Bellevue.

The full fare breakdown can be found on Sound Transit’s website.
