Special Brews has opened its doors at Picnic Point Plaza, on Highway 99 just north of 148th Street SW.
The specialty store has more than 800 beers to choose from. They also carry wines and cider, with a shelf featuring vegan and organic wines. Special Brews even offers gluten free beer.
The store had its soft opening about two weeks ago.
“In a few weeks we will also have our bar side open with six rotating taps so customers can get growler fills, or enjoy a pint while shopping,” owner Annie Han told us. “We do have a tavern license, so our customers can enjoy their beer here.”
Once the bar opens Special Brews will hold weekly tastings.
They can make custom gift baskets for beer lovers and can also accommodate small parties. The hours are Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., and Sunday noon – 4 p.m.
“We are very excited to join the neighborhood and so far we love it,” Han said.
Special Brews regularly gets new beer arrivals. Check their website for the current selection.
Kind of an odd location for a beer store, but I will have to swing by and take a look!
