Sponsor spotlight: PUD offering deals on heat pumps, weatherization and lighting

Take advantage of Snohomish County PUD incentives to save money on energy bills and improve your home’s comfort. The utility is offering on heat pumps, duct sealing and insulation, efficient windows, lighting and more. Heating and weatherization programs are available only for electrically-heated homes.

Heat pump incentives
Install a ductless heat pump this year, and you’ll get a rebate of $800. These units not only reduce your PUD bill, but they improve your home’s comfort by providing even heating and cooling. Additional manufacturer-rebates and mark-downs, valued at up to $300, are available this summer and fall for select Fujitsu and Mitsubishi-Gensco ductless heat pumps. Talk to your contractor about how to take advantage of these additional offers. Customers also can also receive up to $2,500 for upgrades to efficient ducted heat pump systems.

Weatherization
Upgrades from single-pane to double-pane windows carry an incentive of $6 per square foot and $6 per square foot for upgrading metal frame double pane windows. The PUD also provides incentives, for upgrading the insulation level in your homes attic, floor, wall and ducts.

More efficient lighting
The PUD continues to offer discounts on compact fluorescent light bulbs and LED bulbs at a network of local retailers. More and more consumers are turning to LEDs, which are highly efficient and last up to 20 years. For local retailers, see www.snopud.com/efficientlighting.

Efficient clothes washers
