Annual spring cleaning drop-off event scrapped due to budget cuts

The annual spring cleanup drop-off event, originally planned for Saturday, May 8, has been canceled due to budget cuts.

However, Lynnwood residents still can have extra household garbage picked up at no additional charge.

During the week of May 3 – 7, you can place up to three extra garbage bags/cans  plus three extra yard waster containers curbside on your regular pickup day.

Major appliances such as refrigerators or dishwashers also will be picked up ONE DAY ONLY – on Thursday, May 6. They must have a prepaid sticker in order to be collected. Stickers can be purchased for $10 – $15 at Lynnwood City Hall through May 5.

For more information and restrictions, check out the city’s website.

(We’re waiting to find out what impact, if any, the Waste Management strike will have on the extra trash pickup.)
