Starting Saturday, Sound Live Sports Network returns for basketball season

SLSN logoEdmonds School District high school basketball fans who want to watch their favorite boys and girls team in action, but can’t attend in person, are in luck. The Sound Live Sports Network will broadcast selected games all season long, and they will be available for viewing via a computer, tablet or smart phone, and are also archived to watch later. The first games will be broadcast from Edmonds-Woodway High School’s gym this Saturday, Dec. 7, when the Warriors host Meadowdale High School during the annual “rubber chicken” match-up. The girls game will be at 5:15 p.m. with the boys game following at 7 p.m.

The games are presented in partnership with the broadcast and journalism programs at Mountlake Terrace High School and the My Neighborhood News network of online community news sites: LynnwoodToday.com, MLTnews.com and MyEdmondsNews.com. MTHS students gain valuable experience working on the technical side of each broadcast, under the direction of teachers Angelo Comeaux and Vince DeMiero. Veteran high school sports broadcasters Steve Willits, himself an MTHS alumnus, and Keith Nealey, father to an EWHS alumnus and two current Edmonds-Woodway students, provide play-by-play for the broadcasts. The Sound Live Sports Network will also follow playoff action for teams reaching the postseason.

And remember that even if you do attend a game, you can watch the play-by-play on your phone.

Sponsors include Action Jackson Plumbing, Back to Action Chiropractic and Sorelli Pizza.
