Snohomish County 3rd District Councilmember Stephanie Wright has been appointed to serve on a several committees and commissions for the National Association of Counties during the 2019-20 year.
The 3rd District includes the cities of Lynnwood and Edmonds.
Among Wright’s appointments are the International Economic Development Task Force, Large Urban Counties Caucus, Veterans and Military Services Committee and Arts and Culture Commission.
Wright will serve as vice-chair of the International Economic Development Task Force, which helps guide the national organization on county-level engagement in international economic development activities and facilitates the exchange of information, ideas and resources.
“With more than 60% of our jobs being related to trade, it is crucial that we continue to develop policies that expand the reach of Snohomish County and the products we manufacture and grow here,” Wright said. “Developing international relationships in support of our local products will expand opportunities for our companies and farms, as well as increase interest in our local communities for travel and investment.”
The National Association of Counties is comprised of representatives from 3,069 county governments, advocating on national policy and the development of transformational and cost-effective local solutions to county-level issues.
