Truck taken during home invasion robbery recovered in Lynnwood

A pick-up truck that was stolen during a home invasion robbery in Shoreline has been recovered in Lynnwood.

Today Lynnwood police confirmed it was the same truck that was involved in a police pursuit on New Year’s Eve day. An officer tried to stop the truck on Highway 99 at 200th Street SW but the driver took off and led police into north Mill Creek, where the chase ended.

The truck was taken from a 92-year-old Shoreline man on Dec. 27, after two men said their car was broken down and they needed to use his phone. They used masking tape to tie him to a kitchen chair, then checked his home for valuables. They got away with $400 in cash and his 2000 Ford pick-up truck. The elderly victim freed himself by chewing through the tape.

The driver was arrested after the pursuit. No word yet if he was one of the home invasion robbers.
