Fundraiser will honor late Lynnwood High cross county coach

Vic Bennet

The Edmonds Public Schools Foundation’s second annual Street Strut is set for Saturday, Oct. 9. This year’s fundraiser is dedicated to Vic Bennet, a Lynnwood High School cross country coach who passed away last year.

Bennett was a life-long runner and ran almost daily until he lost his battle with leukemia in November. He also taught history in the Edmonds School District for almost 40 years. Read more about Bennet’s life at Shoreline Area News.

This 5K run/walk through Edmonds will help support the Foundation’s mission of providing support to students in the Edmonds School District.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the cross country and track departments. For more information or to register, visit the Foundation’s website.
