Suspect arrested in beating, robbery of cabbie in Lynnwood

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of robbing and assaulting a cab driver near Lynnwood earlier this month.

Our news partner, the Seattle Times, reports that Eric Johnson was arrested Thursday for investigation of first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault. A second, unidentified suspect (below) is still being sought.

The incident happened around midnight Dec. 3, when the taxi driver was beaten by the two men and robbed of cash and credit cards near the 16600 block of Sixth Avenue West near Lynnwood, the Sheriff’s Office said. The two men then forced the cab driver, a 51-year-old man, to walk with them to a convenience store in the 200 block of 164th Street Southwest.
