Suspicious package at Lynnwood Permit Center determined to be safe

Lynnwood Police and later Everett Police Bomb Technicians were called to the Lynnwood Permit Center, located at 4114 198th St SW., today (Monday, Nov. 25) to investigate a suspicious package that was left on a table in the center at about 2:20 p.m.

The package was cleared as not harmful at 3:21 p.m., according to Lynnwood Police spokeswoman Lisa Wellington.

“It was an electronic cigarette device that had an extravagant battery back up charger system attached to it,” Wellington said.

A contractor had accidently left the device on the counter.  The individual was informed that the device can never be left anywhere in public, Wellington said.
