Learn how to make your home energy efficient

Do you want to make your home more energy efficient?

SustainableWorks is a local non-profit that’s offering free or reduced costs energy audits and retrofits from now until the end of January. Residents of Lynnwood and Edmonds are eligible. An information session will be held Dec. 15.

SustainableWorks launched the five month project in September and has been partnering with Snohomish County, the cities of Lynnwood and Edmonds, Edmonds Community College, North Sound Alliance, Sustainable Edmonds and others. So far, about 190 people have signed up.

The goal of the stimulus-funded program is to help homeowners and renters (with landlord approval) make home improvements that reduce their energy use and energy bills. Participants can save on items like furnaces and water heaters, and reduce their energy costs by 20-40%.

The Dec. 15 information session will be held at the SustainableWorks office at 19410 36th Avenue West, Suite 5, in Lynnwood (behind the Lynnwood Convention Center). Residents will get the chance to learn about the program, speak with professional energy auditors and consultants, and sign-up to have their homes audited. Refreshments will be provided.

To learn more about the program or to sign-up, visit www.sustainableworks.com or call 206-575-2252.
