No one was hurt when an unlicensed 16-year-old girl lost control of an SUV and slammed into a home in the 6000 block of 208th St. SW Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the girl had been visiting someone at a nearby apartment when, without permission, she took the keys and drove off in a Ford Explorer. Someone tried to stop her but she sped off, lost control and crashed through a fence, through the corner of a two-story home then through another fence, stopping in the backyard of a neighbor.
The young driver girl got out of the SUV and left the scene. Witnesses called 911 and officers found her a block away.
The Public Works Department delivered lumber to the scene so firefighters could shore up the home.
The girl, who was reported as a runaway from a home in Everett five days ago, was arrested for investigation of driving a vehicle with no license, hit and run and reckless driving.
