Three-vehicle collision causes minor injuries, road closures along 36th Avenue West

A three-vehicle collision near a construction zone on 36th Ave. W. caused road closures and minor injuries.

One suspect was in custody Tuesday after allegedly stealing a vehicle and crashing into four other vehicles near 36th Avenue West, according to the Lynnwood Police Department.

Police responded to a 911 disturbance call in the 3300 block of 167th Place Southwest after a 60-year-old man was reported to have left a residence in a vehicle that didn’t belong to him. As police responded to the disturbance, the man struck two unoccupied vehicles while driving out of the neighborhood.

The suspect then struck two other occupied vehicles while traveling along 36th Avenue West near a construction zone. Both the suspect and the occupants of the vehicles that were struck received multiple minor injuries, police said.

According to Commander Sean Doty, no pedestrians were hit during the incident, which resulted in closure of the roadway. Police are still investigating the incident, he said.
