Prep boys golf: Caparas leads Lynnwood to victory

Rudy Caparas shot a 1-under-par 35 to secure medalist honors and helped Lynnwood to a 242-257 victory over Mariner at Walter Hall Golf Course. Teammate Tyler Scarr finished second with a 43.

Prep boys track: Meadowdale’s Kilcup, Braxton double up with wins

Margaryonta Kilcup won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and Malix Braxton captured the long and triple jumps during a meet with Stanwood, Shorewood and Shoreline Christian at Shoreline Stadium. Other winners for Mavericks included Chris Grant in the 110 hurdles, Kameron Smith in the high jump and 400 and 1,600 relay teams.

Prep girls track: Meadowdale’s Free claims shot put

Meadowdale freshman Dee Dee Free took first place in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, 10 inches. Meadowdale’s 400 relay team also won.

Prep boys track: Lynnwood’s McArthur takes 800, high jump

Lynnwood’s Tyler McArthur won the 800-meter race and the high jump during a Wesco 4A meet against Kamiak at Goddard Stadium. David Vo finished first in the 110 hurdles and Andrew Katzenberger won the discus.

Prep girls track: Edwards, Pivec each win three events

Jordyn Edwards captured the 200-meter dash, 400 and the long jump during a Wesco 4A meet against Kamiak at Goddard Stadium.

Mikayla Pivec won the 800, 1,600 and javelin. Grace Douglas took the 100. The Royals swept all three relays – 400, 800 and 1,600.

Prep baseball: Jackson defeats Lynnwood 9-1

Jackson made the most of its hits, scoring nine runs on 10 hits to beat Lynnwood 9-1 in a Wesco 4A South baseball game at Lynnwood High School.

Brady Girgus singled in Bobby Graham for the Royals’ lone run. Lynnwood is 0-1 in the league and 4-1 overall.
