Traffic safety improvement coming to three Lynnwood schools

mascotsPedestrian and traffic safety improvements will be made at Hilltop, Martha Lake and Spruce elementary schools this summer.

The work is being funded by the voted-approved 2012 Technology/Capital Levy as well as funds from the 2004 Technology/Capital Levy.

The Hilltop and Martha Lake project consists of reconfiguring the existing parking lots and walkways including installation of new crosswalks and other pedestrian safety improvements. Snohomish County is partnering with the District by providing the re-striping of Larch Road to provide safer traffic movements.

The Spruce project rearranges the parent and school bus pick-up and drop-off zones to improve pedestrian safety. The bid was awarded to Interwest Construction Inc.
