“I would encourage all who have yet to attend a Mead High School Christmas Festival Concert to come and experience this year’s concert and discover why, for many in our community, their holiday celebrations begin with this annual event,” said Mike Saccomanno, director of choral activities at Mead High School and artistic director of the Christmas Festival concert series. The Festival is now in its sixth season at Mead.
The concert theme, “Come Darkness, Come Light” will be elevated through choral works and readings from various sources. Presented without interruption, the concert will include the annual candlelight carol.
Musical selections will include René Clausen’s Psalm 100, Edward Henderson’s joyous I Saw Three Ships; What Sweeter Music by Eleanor Daley; David Brunner’s beautiful Christmastide; Il est né, le divin Enfant! arranged by Nicholas Burt; the rousing arrangement of Go Where I Send Thee by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory; and Craig Courtney’s stunning treatment of How Great Our Joy. Riley Gray will serve as accompanist.
