Strong winds Thursday morning knocked a tree into power lines on 36th Avenue West in Lynnwood. That created some sort of power surge to two houses and set them on fire.
One person was inside one of the houses and was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The other house was vacant.
Puget Sound Energy responded to 36th Avenue West near Maple Road to shut off gas in the area. Crews on the scene determined there is no immediate threat to other homes in the neighborhood.
Public Works crews were on 36th Avenue West when the tree fell.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area until it is cleared.
